Management & Development Associates (MDA) was selected to implement the project for the vocational training of people with disabilities and to inform the public for their needs and abilities. The project foresees the training of around 80 disabled people.

Identifying opportunities for people with disabilities in Kosovo and increasing their skills through vocational training is the main objective of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare project “Creating job opportunities for people with disabilities.” This project, which is being implemented in partnership with Management Development Associates (MDA), also aims to create and increase job opportunities for people with disabilities and to raise public awareness for their employment.

The project, which is managed by MDA in cooperation with the Austrian company ipcenter.at, will prepare and organize activities that address professional development of people with disabilities. Activities and training sessions will be organized in the fields of IT, media assistance, call centers, administration, teaching, accounting, and other relevant training fields that are needed for this category of society. “People with disabilities will be professionally trained in specific profiles and fields which are necessary for them in order to create job opportunities,” said Hamit Qeriqi, project director in MDA.

He added that MDA in cooperation with its partner from Austria will organize sessions for vocational training of people with disabilities, and an awareness campaign promoting their needs and abilities. According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, people with disabilities are economically the most vulnerable group in our country.
